Steve Anderson is the manager of the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association. He is responsible for the operation of the Uncompahgre Project which is the largest diverter of water from the Colorado River Basin. The major features of the project include; Taylor Dam, Gunnison Tunnel, seven river diversions, and over 600 miles of canals and laterals used to serve 83,000 acres of land in Montrose and Delta Counties.

Steve has a degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He spent over 20 years working for a large construction and mining company in the western United States. Steve considers himself a farmer and returned to the Uncompahgre Valley to manage the family farm.

Steve is a fourth generation farmer in the Uncompahgre Valley, a third generation director of the Uncompahgre Water Users, and a second generation manager of the Water Users.
