The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) is beginning the process of updating the Colorado Water Plan (Water Plan), which was published in 2015. The update includes new cutting edge tools and data taken from the 2019 Analysis and Technical Update to the Colorado Water Plan and will incorporate information from the eight Basin Implementation Plans from each region of the state.
Because water is one of the most valuable natural resources in Colorado and across the Western United States, it is important to develop a well-balanced, comprehensive Water Plan that captures the voices of all Coloradans.
In order to explain the update process and gather input, the CWCB will host a four-part series of listening sessions via GoToMeeting that touches on various sectors featured in the Water Plan. Each 1.5 hour session will include updates on the Water Plan development process, discussion from a panel of water leaders from each sector, and an open dialogue with attendees. Sessions include:
June 3 • 10:00am - 11:30am • Municipal & Industrial
June 4 • 10:00am - 11:30am • Forest Health & Watershed Health
June 10 • 10:00am - 11:30am • Agriculture
June 11 • 10:00am - 11:30am • Environment & Recreation
All sessions were free and open to the public.
